Choosing the Right Land Clearing Tool
1. Drum & Disc Mulchers
Best for: Total land clearing and tree removal. Mulchers shred standing trees (up to 8-14" diameter) into biodegradable chips. Disc Mulchers (like the Decimator) act like a flywheel for rapid recovery, while Drum Mulchers offer a finer finish. Requires High Flow Hydraulics.
2. Rotary Brush Cutters
Best for: Maintaining trails, pastures, and right-of-ways. These are the "heavy-duty lawnmowers" of the skid steer world. Capable of cutting saplings up to 4-7" thick depending on the model. Available in both Open Front (for aggressive cutting) and Closed Front (for safety).
3. Precision Removal Tools
Best for: Selective clearing. The Tree Puller uproots invasive species completely (roots and all) to prevent regrowth. The Stump Bucket allows you to pry out stubborn stumps and dig trenches without changing tools.
Forestry Mulchers are high-performance tools. You must verify your machine's GPM (Gallons Per Minute) flow rate and PSI before ordering. High Flow models require a dedicated Case Drain line to prevent motor seal failure.
